Welcome to St. Margaret Mary's ParishSacred Space ♥ Sacred PeopleAt St. Margaret Mary’s Parish, we are a community that strives to be welcoming, hospitable, inclusive, and pastoral; that calls forth values, supports and develops the gifts of each member; that works for peace and justice, that is based on the gospel message of love, forgiveness, compassion and service. We pray this will continue to shape us as the People of God. We promote and continue the transformation begun at the Second Vatican Council, rooted in Scripture, respecting church tradition and open to the mystery of God’s renewing Spirit among us. In so doing we cooperate in our reshaping as a parish and we regain and renew the unity of liturgy, catechesis and the doing of justice. The recent renovation of our Sacred Space invites us to continue to grow and become a Sacred People. In the footsteps of our patroness Saint Margaret Mary to whom the Sacred Heart of Jesus was revealed, we are called to radiate the love of Christ to each other and the world. Christ puts his own heart into our hands challenging us to bring about the kingdom in our homes, our community, the nation and the world. Claimed as His own in the waters of Baptism, we are constantly formed and renewed in His love. On fire with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we are filled with the charisma that we need to share in the journey of the cross and resurrection. Through our diversity we are enriched; our growing unity – a sign of his life with us yet. Together as Sacred People we pray that “we may be one in You”. WELCOME FATHER TIM MCCAULEY
In 1985, he moved to Ottawa where he attended Hillcrest High School. Father Tim graduated from Queen's University with a degree in English in 1993. On Easter in 1995 he was welcomed into the Catholic Church. Through his volunteer ministries in a school, a hospital, a soup kitchen and other areas, he slowly began to discern the call to the priesthood. Father Tim was ordained to the priesthood in the Archdiocese of Ottawa on May 18th 2002. He served as an associate pastor at St. Patrick's Fallowfield and at Holy Cross before being named Pastor of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Russell, where he served from 2004 to 2011. He was named Vocations Director for Ottawa in 2008 and has now been appointed Pastor at St. Margaret Mary's and Chaplain at Carleton University. Father Tim celebrated his first Mass with us on Sunday, August 7th. Father Tim, we warmly welcome you to St. Margaret Mary's and look forward to getting to know you and worshipping with you! |
